Southern Innovator's first issue is being printed today! The editor, David South, just sent me this photo. He is at the plant overseeing the process of the printing as I write this. The cover will go for laminating today, finish binding tomorrow and then ship to New York on Thursday.

Southern Innovator magazine is published by UNDP’s Special Unit for South-South Cooperation. It is intended to showcase innovation-led ways people across the global South are making money and fighting poverty. It will be distributed around the world and online. The editor, Eva and I have been developing this magazine for a while now so it's a great feeling knowing that is is finally being printed and launched soon.

New beginnings, new office, etc.

I have settled quite well into my new office now (I got it in November). It is in down town Reykjavik. My good friend and a talented fellow graphic designer was so kind to offer me the other desk in her office on Laugavegur 13. Thanks Eva! I am so happy to be here and it's a nice change to be going out to work for a change rather than going into the next room.

Laugavegur is the main shopping street in down town Reykjavik (for those of you thad don't know that). So my office is in the best spot in town! Please stop by to see me and have a coffee or a tea when you are in town!

Thanks to the internet my website is still in the same place ;) I have been working on some new things and I will show them to you as soon as I can.

My family and I have moved back to Iceland after having lived in London for 6 and a half years. Glad to be back. More news later :)

Logo competition

I recently entered this logo into a competition for Agora's new identity. Agora is an Icelandic startup
business in the making. Four designs were selected to take part in their crowd-sourcing experiment.
My logo did not win, but I got second place!

I won a Oliver Jeffers book!

It just arrived. The AOI had 4 copes of the book The Heart and the Bottle to give away – and my name came out of the competition hat! It is also signed by the talented illustrator Oliver Jeffers himself.

New Logo

I just finished designing this logo for Ragga, a great Icelandic knitting lady. After buying her yarn, book and dvd I decided to get in touch with her to se if she needed some knitting illustrations for her future books – and what do you know?! – I ended up designing her logo and hopefully some more will come.

Logorama the movie

Just came across this animated short film Logorama. It's been nominated for the 2010 Oscar. Everything in Logorama, the characters, the buildings, even the universe is made up of well known logos, mascots and advertising images. 16 minutes of kick ass brand action if you tell me!
